Well, I don´t know. It has a small kind of guitarsolo in the midst of all drumming, but most of all it is just simply brilliant entertainment.

FORBIDDEN
This band is one of the most sadly underrated of all, and no one really knows why it didn´t take off. Sure is however that it nurtured the talents of both Paul Bostaph (on and off drummer with Slayer) and Robb Flynn (leading man of Machine Head). Forbidden must be considered one of the most innovative and musical metal bands with all the edge, love, warmth, melody, articulation, groove and unexpected musical moves that makes a great band. And to this the fabolous voice of Russ Anderson. And to this, really sensible lyrics with a point.

Copyright from the top of my head...
I just have to say something about this current copyright debate
1. Intellectual efforts turned into products are works
2. Developed works will cost money if you dont want a world of crap
3. Works are products representing impressions with a value regardless of any ways of copying them
4. Products, just as milk, cost money
5. Taking products without paying is theft and not a human right no matter how much you "dig that song"
6. All criminal activities are monitored as best as possible. Internet provides great access in both ways, sharing and monitoring. It has nothing to do with integrity.
7. Leave the "big happy visions for all" to the evolusion, until they don´t hurt anyone or come up with some other argument that does not so blatantly reflect greed.
8. It is all pretty simple, really. Boring yes. Simple yes. Nothing has really changed.

Erik Mongrain
Erik Mongrain, a marvelous tapper, slapper and super sensitive abuser of the ol´ acoustic guitar as we knew it. A whole lot of circus but yet so much, much more musical ambition and delivery. Click here for checking Erik!

Josh Martin
If you ever wondered what to do with an 8-string guitar after counting your way through all the Meshuggah-mathematics, maybe this could give you an idea. This weeks YouTube -favourite is Josh Martin, grooving it out on an Ibanez 2228.

Brent Hinds of MASTODON

I just sat down with Brent Hinds from MASTODON, the great neo-metal band from the US. His precious 1979 Gibson V that got stolen in danish town of Odense in 2002, miracously was returned to him after a somewhat magic chain of events, two days ago. Hell, I suggest you take a look at www.myspace.com/mastodon to celebrate good karma in the world. And yeah, they have a new album coming out in february 2009 called Crack In The Sky. According to Brent it is "the most mature and amazing effort from the band."

Jim Root of SLIPKNOT

Jim Root was in Stockholm with SLIPKNOT today and I was fortunate enough to meet him before the show. Do you know that he is 198 cm tall? That is quite a lot and it can be a problem. Jim spent the day in Stockholm looking for jeans, since he only brought two pairs and lost one. Two pair of jeans? On a worldtour? I should have brought at least three pairs. Jim is actually a big fan of Maton guitars, the same brand that Josh Homme of Queens of The Stone Age uses. They are cool. http://www.maton.com.au/
