Alexi Laiho - Children of Bodom

Just had a chat with Alexi Laiho. An honest and genuinly nice dude. First guitar was a Tokai Stratocaster and the album "that made the difference" was the epic Passion And Warfare by Steve Vai. Those were the days... This will be a cover story in the may issue of FUZZ.

Crazy Guitar Solo

Work a bit on the tone and you will be fine, young man. And keep the skater attitude. And check out the comments to the video. A note made is that this is how it is being young and having talent these days. It does not seem that achievements are that much worth any more. 50 % of the audience get dead scared and threatened. A bit sad I think.

KISS - TAKE ME. This is dedication...

...and ROCK! The attitude that this guy belts out is amazing in the pleasure of his own home. And, it sounds JUST RIGHT! Love it!

Ash Soular

Yes, girls are underrepresented, but that´s not because they are girls. However I found this jem that has an amazing feel and tone in her performance. That is two basic requisites for getting recognized, so here she is.

Justin King

A nice funky and free touch, don´t you think?

Strange but beautiful...

...in a healthy twisted way!

Well it could be this one...

Isn´t this Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick?

Where would you start?

If you can find something that is even cooler. Please post it!

Jim Root on an 8-string Ibanez

This is cool. I have never seen Jim from the mighty Slipknot on an 8-string before. A nice guy with a nice touch and it turned out a great song, this Lil Wayne hip hop-cover! Jonathan Davies from Korn on vocals rocks da AutoTuner like a dream...

Sweet - Hell Raiser

I mean this is magic! A live band far beyond all todays standards. And this was 1973...

True shredding

This is really fun!

Riffguy plays for the gods

Maybe it is the early morning, but doesn´t this guy stand in what looks like a basement playing for the gods? He is known as Riffguy on YouTube and has produced a number of interesting contribution.

Kevin Hufnagel honouring John Cage

John Cage was a composer of the more alternative school. His works included arrangements for "prepared piano", which utilised pieces of paper and wood stuck in between the strings of the piano. Here we can see a performance by Kevin Hufnagel of Dyrsrythmia, whipping out an original composition for "prepared guitar". Unique and inspiring!

The Kris Norris Project

Kris Norris, former guitarist from Darkest Hour, in a new release. Love the riffs, love the snow and the simplicity of it all. Hey, I am from Sweden...

Guitarhype

I found this cool site today called http://www.guitarhype.com/ It features a lot of videos of famous guitar bands of varying quality. A nice intitative! Check it out!

Gibson Dark Fire

I tried the new Gibson Dark Fire guitar today and I am amazed. It has the robot-tuning feature and I do not see any reason why this should not be a standard. I mean who likes to tune a guitar? It is a not a matter of not knowing how, but it is honestly both annoying and timeconsuming. Could be interesting to find out how it would react to a whammy bar... ;-)

From a design perspective it must also be considered an instrument by which Gibson has taken a long awaited leap forward. It looks really modern and strives ahead and doesn´t look back. It seems very much as a boutique product.
